Aegean-Lloyd’s Register Yacht

28 May 2014

On Friday 30 May 2014 the international shipping community gathers for the 7th Posidonia Cup Yacht Race, which will take place in Faliron Bay, celebrating the start of Posidonia 2014, the International Shipping Exhibition.

This sailing regatta, one of the highlights of the Posidonia week since 2002, is the most anticipated event for the excitement it offers and the networking opportunities it creates. In 2012 participations summed up an impressive 55 sailing yachts that competed for the prestigious Posidonia Cup awards and it is expected that 2014 participations will exceed all previous records in all four categories: Performance, Standard, I.R.C. and Classic yachts.

This year a new entry is in the regatta: The Aegean-Lloyd’s Register entry, the Acool Turabi!

Posidonia exhibitors as well as all members of the international shipping community are invited to join this challenging and fun race, either with their own private yacht or with those provided by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC).

The Posidonia Cup, one of the biggest sailing events in Greece, will once again conclude with a prestigious reception on Friday evening, where the winners will be presented with the impressive awards. The Posidonia Cup awards occupy prominent positions in shipping offices around the world, as winning the regatta assures great publicity for the winners during and after Posidonia week.

Bringing shipping executives, professional sailors and experienced seafarers together, both the race itself and the award ceremony will provide the global shipping community an opportunity to meet, reinforce old friendships and create new ones.
