M/T Green Planet: Maiden Voyage

19 June 2014

M/T Green Planet, the first newbuilding of Aegean Shipping’s GreenFleet, completed her maiden voyage successfully.
The vessel was delivered to the charterer for her first cargo, loading at Singapore on April 23, 2014 where she was loaded with seven different palm oil cargoes from three ports of Malaysia and Indonesia.
Subsequently, she smoothly crossed the Indian Ocean, having enforced all needed anti-piracy measures, at the agreed charter party speed.
Green Planet called at her first discharging port, Port of Sudan, on May 22, where she discharged part of her cargo and then she transited Northbound via the Suez Canal on May 26.
On May 28 she arrived at her first Mediterranean port, Mersin, Turkey, and discharged the second part of the cargo, followed by two more ports in Turkey, both within Sea of Marmara.
This voyage completed at the Black Sea port of Odessa, Ukraine, where she discharged her last parcel on June 15, 2014 and after completion of discharge was redelivered back to owner’s service.
All sea passages, maneuvering at sea and ports, transiting Suez Canal, Dardanelles Bosporus as well as loading and discharging cargo operations effected during this voyage were carried out smoothly, without any failure of her engines, auxiliary machineries and equipment. All electronic navigational and communication equipment was in excellent working condition.
The vessel is presently at the Black Sea, offshore Odessa, under tank cleaning/preparation in view of her next employment.
