Steel Cutting Ceremony

The steel cutting ceremony for the first out of four sister vessels of 52,000 dwt Product/ Chemical tankers, with Hull No. SB570, took place on April 5, 2013 at DaeSun Shipbuilding & Engineering in Busan, Korea, and was witnessed by:

- Mr Ted Shinn, Sales Head Office Director, Daesun Shipbuilding & Eng. Co., Ltd
- Mr SC Kim, Business Dept. Daesun Shipbuilding & Eng. Co., Ltd
- Ms ES Park, Daesun Shipbuilding & Eng. Co., Ltd
- Mr WT Kim, Managing Director, M.J INDUSTRIAL Co., Ltd
- Mr Alex. Yannoulis, Site Manager

The steel cutting day indicates the commencement of the works for a new building, where steel plates are being cut into the parts that will form the hull and deck sections of the ship.

The vessels have been designed to meet the latest technology, highest level of environmental protection and energy conservation. The first two will be classed with Lloyd's and the other two with Germanischer Lloyd.

According to the schedule the first vessel (Hull No. SB570) is expected to be launched next October and delivered to her owners on January 2014. The other three sister vessels (Hull No. SB571, SB572 and SB573) are to be delivered on March, May and June 2014.
